Volunteer Opportunities
Highland Hospital Make a difference in your community while having fun interacting with your peers. Volunteering is a great experience. You must be 14 years of age or older by July 1, 2010 to participate. The volunteer program runs June 28th through September 3rd. Interviews will be held May 17th through June 18th. Applications are available in the Aquinas Counseling Center.
Gilda's Club Rochester General Volunteer Help those touched by cancer by volunteering at Gilda's Club. There are a number of activities you can do. They include but are not limited to mailing help (sealing, stuffing, labeling etc), phone/door answering, cleaning, baking, watching young children or assisting during adult social functions.

Camp Open Arms Counselor Volunteer with children ages 3-14 at a two week summer day camp. The camp is for children with cancer or sickle cell anemia and children with family members with cancer. For 2010, the camp is July 12-23, Monday-Friday from 9-3. We are based out of Charles Finney School in Pittsford, but we take field trips all over Rochester and the surrounding areas. We participate in activities like kayaking, swimming, Seabreeze, bowling, museums, laser tag and much more!

Seneca Park Zoo ZooTeens assist our visitors in learning about animals and the environments they live in through interactive and hands-on experiences. The summer volunteer program is designed for young people ages 13 to 18. Hours are flexible. Uniforms are required. Training and support are provided throughout the program. The program lasts from the end of June through the end of August. A uniform and materials fee is required. For additional information and an application, visit the Zoo Teen Program page.
Strong Memorial Hospital Youth ages 14 and up are invited to volunteer with the Friends of Strong Memorial Hospital high school summer volunteer program.
The program runs June 28 through September 4th and requires a time commitment of 3-4 hours per week.
