In my efforts to provide a safe and comfortable environment in which students may utilize their full potential I provide my students with a clear set of written classroom expectations.

Geometry emphasizes proofs. This course allows students to develop a postulational system of reasoning beginning with definitions, postulates, and the laws of reasoning. Students will learn to apply the laws of logic to tradtional deductive proofs in geometry, both direct and indirect. Furthermore, this course integrates traditional synthetic geometry, coordinate geometry, and transformational geometry. Upon completion of this course students will have aquired the necessary skills to be successful for taking the Geometry Regents exam in June.

Precalculus consists of the review and extension of previous taught topics and skills. The course will also introduce students to new exciting and challenging topics. Precalc will prepare students for the next sequential math course, calculus.

Calculus is the reformulation of elementary mathematics through the use of the limit process. it is fundamentally different from the mathematics previously studied. Calculus is less static and more dynamic. It is concerned with change and motion; it deals with quantities that approach other quantities.
